The figure of Northamerican activist Rachel Corrie has inspired the texts which make up this play. It recalls the trip to Palestine of a woman who finds her place in another ‘self’.

State of siege is a little girl who dreams of the end of starvation in the world, a girl who discovers that there are other realities on the other side of the wall which encloses her home; state of siege are a thousand flowers getting rotten in a Check Point; state of siege is a woman who shares her tea and blankets with a foreign woman who once decided not to turn a blind eye; state of siege is the hole made by a bullet through which children sing…. state of siege is the search of a place in a state of siege: the fence that we set up against ourselves, or the one which others build for us; state of siege is the front sight in which a white woman becomes a target. State of siege is the uncomfortable truth flattened by bulldozers.
